ppg>noltemeyer was originally founded as Ludwig Fr. Noltemeyer GmbH in Braunschweig in 1876.

The company changed hands several times in the 1980s and 1990s.
It was then acquired by WEGO Group at the end of 2007.
At the end of 2008, the holding company was set up in Oldenburg as the umbrella for all member companies in prepacgroup.
2009: The holding company changes its name to prepacgroup and the names of the individual sites to ppg>noltemeyer, ppg>flexofilm and ppg>wegoflex.
